How to deal with a stubborn child - 4 effective ways
Stubborn Child #1. Have a give and take relationship with your child - You have to know that it is one of your obligations to develop a give and take relationship between you and your child. You can start with teaching your child how to share their toys with their playmates or friends. You can also teach your child to have an exchange of toys with his/her playmate. This will only teach your child that if he/she wants to play with the other child's toys, then your child must share his toys. That life is all about giving and taking.
Stubborn Child #2. Say no to shouting - Whether it is you or child that is prone to shouting when upset or feeling mad, you should be able to show your child and teach your child that shouting won't do any of you any good. You must be able to stay calm even if the situation is nothing but chaotic. By showing this to your child, you are only teaching your child not to shout as a response to his/her emotions.
Stubborn Child #3. No to forcing - Parents all have rules. But you must not force your child to accept those rules. It will only make them fear you. They will also never learn how to accept consequences. You can tell them about your rules, by simply explaining it with them but never forcing the rules to them.
Stubborn Child #4. Listen and talk to your child - We all have our minds. And our children come with one too. We as parents are always busy and sad to say we sometimes do not have the time to listen and talk to our children. If you want to know how to deal with a stubborn child, then you have to be able to listen and talk to them. Remember, your child is only trying to get your attention, that's why they are acting that way.
